Congressman accused of multiple finance violations.
The Campaign Legal Center, a watchdog organization that keeps track of Congressional campaign activities, filed an ethics complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against newly-sworn in Representative George Santos this week. The organization alleges that Congressman Santos intentionally falsified information in his campaign finance report to conceal his use of campaign funds for personal expenses. They also claim that he took measures to conceal where or who some of his larger campaign loans were sourced from.
“Particularly in light of Santos’s mountain of lies about his life and qualifications for office, the Commission should thoroughly investigate what appear to be equally brazen lies about how his campaign raised and spent money,” the organization concluded in their complaint, referencing how the freshman legislator admitted to lying about parts of his resume in two recent public interviews.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Commissioner Ellen Weintraub to be discerning in responding to the allegations.
- For wisdom for Speaker McCarthy as he leads the House of Representatives.
